Media Licensing Rights
Last Updated: January 2026
This Media Licensing Rights policy explains how visual, video, audio, and creative assets produced by Craft + Code Marketing (“Craft + Code,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) may be used by clients after delivery.
All media usage is subject to the terms outlined below unless otherwise stated in a written agreement.
Ownership of Creative Assets
Unless explicitly transferred in writing, Craft + Code retains ownership of all creative assets produced, including but not limited to:
• Photography
• Video footage
• Edited video content
• Graphics and design files
• Branding assets
• Marketing materials
• Automation-related creative outputs
Clients are granted a license to use delivered assets, not ownership of the underlying intellectual property.
Standard Usage License (Included)
Upon full payment, clients receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use final delivered media for the following purposes:
• Website usage
• Social media marketing
• Email marketing
• Digital advertising
• Print marketing related to their business
• Internal promotional use
This license is granted solely to the contracting client and may not be transferred or resold.
Restrictions on Use
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, clients may not:
• Resell or sublicense media to third parties
• Claim authorship or ownership of the media
• Alter media in a way that misrepresents the original work
• Use assets for unrelated businesses or brands
• Use media in templates or marketplaces
• Use assets for prohibited or unlawful purposes
Unauthorized use may result in revocation of licensing rights.
Exclusive Licensing and Buyouts
Exclusive usage rights, extended licensing, or full buyouts are not included by default.
If a client requires:
• Exclusive rights
• Industry exclusivity
• Geographic exclusivity
• Full ownership or buyout
These must be negotiated separately and documented in writing prior to project completion.
Additional fees apply based on scope and intended usage.
Portfolio and Promotional Use
Craft + Code reserves the right to display completed work for:
• Portfolio presentation
• Website and case studies
• Social media promotion
• Marketing and sales materials
• Award submissions or editorial features
This usage is for self-promotion only and does not disclose confidential business information.
If a client requires confidentiality or restricted portfolio use, this must be agreed upon in writing before project start.
Third-Party Assets
Some projects may include third-party licensed elements such as:
• Stock photography
• Stock video footage
• Music or audio tracks
• Fonts or plugins
These assets are subject to the original creator’s license terms. Craft + Code does not transfer ownership of third-party licenses unless explicitly stated.
Modifications and Derivative Works
Clients may resize or format delivered assets for approved use cases.
Substantial modifications, repurposing, or derivative works beyond original intent may require written approval.
Craft + Code is not responsible for quality or brand impact resulting from unauthorized modifications.
Termination of License
Licensing rights may be terminated if:
• Payment terms are violated
• Media is used outside the agreed scope
• The client breaches contractual agreements
Upon termination, use of all licensed assets must cease.
